Friends in Adventure

My enjoyment of adventure travel and X-Stream Fishing has been truly enhanced by the company of my good friends that have shared many adventures with me over the years.  Here is a brief intro to some of the rough and ready crew.

Paul and I did our first big wilderness trip into the wilds of Central Tasmania when we were teenagers,  we have never stopped doing adventures together.  A friendship of over 30 years and hundreds of trips to all corners of Australia and New Zealand.  He has never missed an big adventure in all that time and still gets as excited by the idea as when we were kids.

Gav and I went to school together and spent our spare time chasing trout in the creeks from Canberra to the Snowies. Weekends we would migrate to the coast and chase estuary species or head to sea fishing for Tuna and Marlin from his Dads boat Delta-T.  Those times are one of the reasons I love sport fishing today.

I met Peter a few years ago after I moved to the far south coast and we have become great friends through our regular shared explorations of our beautiful local area.  We are both live by the motto 'Adventure before Dementure', our annual trip list is impressive and we have bushwalked and fished most of the far south coast wilderness in the last few year.

Sonny and I have fished all over Australia, in Fiji and in New Zealand over the last 15 years.  He lives in South Australia now so our regular 'bread and butter' fishing has been replaced with more epic trips to the Top End, NZ and out to Kangaroo Island.

Doctor Paul is one of the big trip guys,  he loves his fishing, loves big fish and is always a laugh to do trips with.  He is The Man for trip logistics with military planning abilities.

I met Ben when I was a uni student in Canberra many years ago,  we have done a big range of fishing together from  NZ to NT,  he loves a remote area trip and throws a mean fly nowdays.

I first prompted Matt to cast a fly rod,  he inspired me to chase bass and we have gone on to chase a whole range of species together all over the country and in NZ. It is always a blast to get out together, he fishes the way I like to - Hard.

I met Gus through the Ausbass forum and we have become great fishing mates.  He often visits the far south coast and we chase estuary species and bass together.   He has taught me more about estuary lure fishing than I thought there was to learn,  he is a master of that game.

Tim loves to catch fish but he's not very good at it, I sometimes think he actually repels fish....regardless of that,  he is an absolute joy to fish with and that is the essential trait of a good fishing companion.

Jeff is another local mate and perhaps one of the few fishos that will stay out as long as me. He has fished all over the place with some impressive credits.  He only recently started chasing bass and EP's but  is proving to be ridiculously apt at it.
